Abstract

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a globally prevalent disorder resulting from prenatal exposure to alcohol. Early diagnosis is key to appropriate and targeted early interventions. Early identification is facilitated by clinician education, multidisciplinary communication, and community partnerships to provide appropriate support and resources for families and clinical teams involved in their care. The purpose of this chapter is to provide clinicians with an overview of the diagnostic assessment of individuals with prenatal alcohol exposure.
